Action in the Mayor’s Cup football championship is scheduled to continue tonight with a double header at the Georgetown Football Club ground, Bourda starting from 6:00.
Play opens with Camptown challenging young and up coming East Coast team Bakewell Buxton; while at 8:00pm in the nightcap BK Western Tigers oppose Beacon.
Both games promise to be exciting and it is hoped that favourable weather prevails to permit a keenly contested double header.
The energetic Buxton outfit will look to upstage their more seasoned counterparts from the city however, with the experience of Troy Prescod, Nigel Codrington, Orlando Gilgeous and Reshawn Sandiford propelling Camptown, the East Coast team have a major job on their hands.
Beacon skipper Sherman David will hope his team fires tonight as they will look to turn the tide on Western Tigers. Known as the ‘Tormentor’ Devon Millington is a major thorn in the sides of any defence.
The skillful busy small frame forward has shown his worth both at the club and national levels and will look to exploit the weakness of his former club. Fans can expect two entertaining encounters.
