Cop stabs man in the neck, victim critical

A policeman identified as Constable 18170 Baldeo is now in custody and is likely to e charged with attempted murder. He could also be charged with murder if the victim dies.
According to reports from Parika, the policeman was imbibing in the vicinity of Demerara Bank at Parika when he got into an altercation with a man named Floyd (only name given).
The altercation became heated and an eyewitness said that Baldeo, the policeman, stabbed Floyd in the neck.
The victim collapsed and had to be rushed to hospital. Up to press time he was a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital having been referred from the West Demerara Regional  Hospital.
Ranks from the Parika Police Station immediately rushed to the scene and arrested their colleague who was said to be living at Parika Backdam.
