The Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA) will host a Second Division competition tomorrow at the Reliance Volleyball Court, East Canje. According to the BVA, if it rains plans are in place for the one-day competition to be played at the Albion Community Centre, Hard Court, Corentyne Berbice.
The tournament which was previously scheduled for earlier this month at the East Canje facility was postponed as a result of rain. The first ball is expected to be served 09:00hrs.
The competing teams are Eaglets, Rollers, Jaguars, Port Mourant Training School, Albion, Rose Hall Town and Berbice High School among others.
The association which was recently resuscitated has so far held a number of tournaments in the Ancient County at the first division, school and exhibition levels in its efforts to revive the game. The BVA plans to make this year a busy and competitive one for the sport as they seek to maintain an active interest among the clubs and players.
Following tomorrow’s tournament, next on the BVA agenda is a beach competition which was also previously postponed and is now set for on March 26 at the No.63 Beach which is sponsored by Demerara Distillers Limited under its Diamond Mineral Water Brand.
