A post mortem performed on the remains of 49 year-old Lawrence Martindale, revealed that he sustained six stab wounds.
The post mortem was performed yesterday at the Georgetown Public Hospital by Government Pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh.
According to a source close to the investigation Martindale died as a result of shock and hemorrhage due to stab wounds.
However, the police are yet to make an arrest. The man’s remains have since been handed over to his relatives for burial.
On Monday morning last Martindale’s body was found at the Port Kaituma waterfront. It is believe that the man was robbed and murdered.
This newspaper was told that the man may have been killed some time between 3:30 hours and 5:30 hours. The dead man’s wife said she had spoken to her husband who was a fish vendor hours before receiving the news of his death.
The woman said that her husband had related to her that he had already sold off a catch of fish and he would be posting some money to her the following day.
