Dear Editor,
It is heartening to hear that President Jagdeo does agree that the route of the Mashramani Costume Band and Float Parade need to be rerouted.
For quite some time now it had been my held belief and I had expressed such to the SN through its letter column, where I pointed out the route I choose, from the Culture Center up Kitty Avenue, into Sheriff St., turning left in to the Public Rd. splitting in two passing through Kitty Village then up Carifesta Avenue and then into the National Park, where there would be a newly constructed bridge as well as an access road and new arrangements for the northern pavilion.
I am sure that such can be done by the time of the next Mashramani, such can also incorporate aspects of kite flying whereby Easter is highlighted being one of our major festivals, where tourist would show a definite interest, as the Costume Bands and Float Parade would be passing in the vicinity of the Sea Walls.
There is another aspect in relation to choosing such a route, that is, that the roads are generally in a good state.
