From left back row: Club Captain Patrick Prashad, raffle winners, John Tracey and Francois Montour, (front left) third place winner George Bulkan, Hemraj Kissoon, second placed Avinda Kishore and winner Mike Mangal.
Mike Mangal returned to form on Saturday winning the Kissoon Group of Companies Golf Tournament at Lusignan.
Shooting a gross 75 for a net 68 he pipped Avinda Kishore, who recorded the same net (74 gross, 6 handicap) 68 but was not as good on the last nine holes as Mangal.
Third place went to George Bulkan who shot a gross 84 (handicap 15 net 69). Nearest to the pin was Paul Udit.
With the course in decent condition after heavy rains, the tournament was well attended with over 40 players participating.
Club Treasurer Brain Hackett thanked longstanding member and past president Hemraj Kissoon for his continued sponsorship and generosity towards the club.
Kissoon said his company could always be relied on to support golf in Guyana and as part of this support he donated two sets of junior clubs and had presents for all the players.
In addition a raffle was held for three lazy boy seats than can fold out into beds.
However, perhaps the highlight of the evening was the goat curry, the animals for which came from Kissoon’s farm. This week’s tournament is sponsored by GT&T.
