I pity the people who will actually vote for the AFC

Dear Editor,
The letter on March 7 by Sasanarine Singh merely supports my contention that this man is hell-bent in trying to destroy the good name of President Cheddi.
He joins the snake-pit of political vipers like Malcolm Harripaul and Freddie Kissoon, who repeatedly slander the Jagan good name.
As to the comments this AFC spokesman made about me in relation to the PPP and Mrs. Janet Jagan, all I have to say is that Sasenarine Singh is an inventor of lies and distortions which reflect the general political approach of the AFC.
I pity the people who will actually vote for the AFC with liars and political distortionists like Singh representing that party.
I have stood, over the years, fast to the principles I stood up for when I left the PPP and I still believe in shared governance for the good of this country; democracy in it’s real form when the fundamentals come from the basis of a real free press where the government owns none of the media except an information service – no government TV, radio or newspaper; no party list system, but constituency politics and the abolishment of the Executive Presidency and a total revision of our constitution where more democracy and less government is the watchword; these principles apply to democracy within the PPP also.
Sasenarine Singh would like the public to believe, with his lies and distortions, that somehow I was disinherited from the leadership of the PPP by some fantasy he conjures in his warped mind, when in fact, I brought all of my political positions before that party leadership before I resigned my seat in Parliament and it was clear to me that the PPP, at that time and until this day, was not interested in the political questions I raised.
At no time, as Singh asserts, was I ever considered for the Presidency of Guyana by Mrs. Jagan and her comrades because in fact, they knew that I was a strong antagonist of communism and would unravel the socialist-communist knots which still bind the PPP leadership to the past.
Mr. Editor, Sasenarine Singh represents the worst kind of political opportunist one can see and if the AFC can become home to the likes of such people, then I say that I will be speaking out against anyone voting for that party.
