The Guyana Badminton Association will be running off an Inter-Schools Badminton Team Tournament starting on Saturday March 12 at the Queens College Badminton Courts.
Schools who are interested in participating can contact any Member of the GBA. The Team must have at least 2 boys and 2 girls minimum.
Matches will be Boy Singles, Girl Singles, Boys Doubles, Girl Doubles and Mixed Doubles for a total of 5 points.
Schools already identified are: Marian Academy, St. Stanislaus College, Bishops High School & Queens College.
Badminton is played regularly at these schools through the GBA development drive. However the GBA is looking to go into more schools to get more Badminton played. The GBA already made contact with School of Nations and Mae’s and is looking forward to once again get the Berbice High School back on board.
A release from the GBA informed that one factor facing Badminton in the schools is the space to put down Courts and at the moment its easy to target the schools with the right indoor facilities first.
