– Evidence does not show that two defendants were involved in the death
The two persons who were accused of killing Albouystown resident, Wendell Tappin, yesterday walked out of the magistrate’s court free of the charge as Magistrate Fazil Azeez upheld no case submissions by their lawyer Euclin Gomes.
The two men, Leonard Allicock and Randolph Allicock, were charged last year, with the murder. The matter was prosecuted by Assistant Superintendent Robert Tyndall.
It is alleged that on December 31, 2009, at Albouystown, they murdered Wendell Tappin.
This newspaper understands that the evidence did not suggest that the two men ever inflicted any wound on the deceased.
Further, there was no chopping incident, but the deceased was stabbed.
The only eyewitness was the victim’s father and his testimony was highly suspect.
During the case it was stated that no one, not even relatives remembered seeing the father anywhere near to where the incident happened.
Notwithstanding, his testimony exonerates the two defendants from the infliction of any stab wound on the deceased.
The third accused in the matter Steve Allicock, who was never apprehended, from the evidence led in the matter, appears to be the person who may have been responsible for the death.
The evidence was led by the only eyewitness, which was the victim’s father.
