Junior football will make a long awaited return to the City with the Len’s Craft Optical/Sunburst Under-15 League which is expected to kick off shortly.
Clubs are eagerly awaiting the start of what is anticipated to be an exciting tournament which will be played on a round-robin/knock-out basis.
Allister Parris, Managing Director of Len’s Craft Optical, a former player with Pele Football Club was the driving force behind the competition which will also be sponsored by Sunburst Orange Juice. “What has really driven me to do something for these youths is the fact that I can recall playing very often as a youngster. I remember how we were very busy on weekends and would love to see those days return. Building a solid foundation at this level is very important for our forward thrust and I want to make a contribution in this regard.”
The tournament is expected to be launched later this week and will see teams from Sunburst Camptown, Fruta Conquerors, Pele, Santos, BK International Western Tigers, Georgetown Football Club, Riddim Squad, Houston Stars and Renaissance among others competing.
