Dear Editor,
Serious patriots and those attached to truth and the accuracy of our history tend to ignore the fulmination and fabrications of Prem Misir.
However, he has gone over the boundary when in his recent letter details all of the alleged PNC misdeeds, in his contention that Guyana is now free. In the new world, freedom still has different interpretations to different societies, and environments – however, the silver thread that runs through them all is access to information, including the media.
If Mr. Misir accepts this thesis, and from his own statements he surely must, I put two simple factors, and shall be grateful if he or his ilk can respond by way of example. Why it is that after 19 years of this purported return to democracy, and freedom (sic) that our folks, in community of Linden can only listen to the Television and Radio that is State controlled?
And that to repeat something I’ve mentioned before nationwide, we are the only country in the world where there is only one State Controlled Radio, and only the State Controlled NCN, has full television coverage available across the country, while in spite of efforts by others, Television broadcast network still remains severely restricted.
Prem Misir must stop this nonsense and deal only with the truth. And how much longer will we hear about the PNC’s 28 years, and not about capricious dismissal, secret deals, bizarre contracts, high immorality in the highest of places – and the recent attempt to manipulate the religious community?
