Region Three Eco Coordinator, Marcel Lieaping, yesterday told Kaieteur News that there is a group of youngsters from her Eco-club who are engaged in fund raising activities to achieve sufficient money to fund a trip they have planned to Brazil.
Fund-raising activities include an inter-school debate on Tuesday between the schools in Region Three, regular concerts, food sale and a pageant, the date for which has not yet finalised by the committee.
Marcel said that the members of the club meet on several occasions as a group and set up their schedule.
In an attempt to keep school surroundings clean, Marcel said that there is an ongoing competition where by trophies will be given to schools with the cleanest surroundings.
She added that this will allow the school children to keep schools clean and to minimise littering.
