The nation’s top horses would be complimented by two recent imported animals to add to the excitement when the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club and Sports Facility presents a grand one day horse racing meet at the club’s West Berbice location on Sunday March 6 next.
Jockeys would be competing for over 3 million dollars in cash and prizes with the feature event, the ‘E and Lower’ being sponsored by beverage magnates Ansa McAl.
This race covers 1400m and the winner gallops off with $250,000. The second place finisher wins half that amount while the third and fourth place finishers win $62,500 and $31,000 respectively.
Eight races in all will be ran on that day and turfites can anticipate the excitement in store in the ‘E and Lower,’ ‘G and Lower,’ and the race between the 3 year olds which are all locally bred.
Recently imported animals will also add to the excitement including ‘Gold Plated’ and ‘Harry’s Dream.’ Other horses competing are Top of The line, Prospector’s Pride, Finishing touch, Irish Girl, Night Crescendo, Fresh Prospect, Super Cat, Home bush Baby and The gap among others. .
Meanwhile, jockeys would be competing under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority (GHRA) and all of those rules would be employed.
The registration period end on Sunday February 27 at the Club’s office, Number 13 Village Hermitage Corentyne and in Berbice at number 19 Road Corentyne.
