Guyanese like a holiday and dem like a freeness. Li’l rain fall and Bharrat panic and decide to call off de float parade. He forget that Mash is something that don’t ever move. Is a Cuffy thing.
Dem boys seh that dem remember de time when some church people claim how Mash fall pun Ash Wednesday and dem ask de government to postpone it. Burnham ask dem if Muslims and Hindu does celebrate Ash Wednesday. Dem get de message.
Then Mash clash wid Eid and Phagwah. De religious argument come up but Mash stay. Dem boys want to know how come li’l rain can stop it. In fact de rain realize that it fighting a losing cause and it hold off just fuh de float parade.
Some ladies bake pone and things fuh sell. Dem boys want to know if Bharrat woulda pay fuh de spoilage.
All dem people who was practicing fuh wine and who use to go to keep fit class woulda get vex if anybody did change de date. Some bear de pain. But dem had de others who don’t like wuk. Dem wanted Mash Day and next Monday because Bharrat open he mouth and talk bout float parade on Sunday.
Well Mash on. All dem people who come from de States just fuh Mash gun get to see it. Is dem who insist because dem know bout rain and snow and parade. Rain halt Mash? No way.
