Dear Editor,
While I am not amused by anything done or proposed by this government, my imagination keep hunting me day and night. My gut tells me the government operates like some unscrupulous shops around Guyana.
Whatever they do they must make a big profit. However, this government on the other hand not only makes a big profit, but the people they suppose to provide for are being starved. Instead of real developments we are forced to accept substandard works.
Now, can someone explain to me and the nation at large, why do we need a second road from the airport to Timehri Police Station? This is utter nonsense. If the newspapers are correct, can the minister of roads or more so the government explains this nonsense.
Don’t tell me traffic congestion, the narrowness of the road or it will not cost the treasury a cent.
Why not build a secondary road from the airport way down to Georgetown using the backlands?
The PNCR had a proposed road map of this project. Why not solicit same and work with that. With the entire road expansion projects, we are still plagued with traffic congestion on the East Bank Demerara. Should there be (and God help us) a major catastrophe in Georgetown and we have to move way to Linden or somewhere on the highway, or vice-versa there is only one road available.
Let it be a reminder to this government that the greatest king ever ruled on earth did not rule for eternity, one day your rule will come to an end and I trust those who take over will prosecute all the ‘thieves’.
We are currently witnessing the toppling of governments in the Far East. I hope the government is paying much attention.
Only fools laid their treasures on earth. When death comes it serves no purpose for no one knows the hour. According to “Dem Boys” “no matter how long the rope is, he got an end.”
Something is fundamentally wrong with us. God help us and save our dear land of Guyana.
