A fight involving Camp Street high profile inmates broke out yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court lockup.
The brawl forced lawmen who brought high profile accused criminals to court to intervene.
According to one of the officers, inmates from the Bartica double murder and other high profile accused who had apparently had previous problems decided to settle their differences yesterday in the lockups.
The incident forced lawmen to hurriedly transport the Bartica double murder gang back to the Camp Street penitentiary. The other inmates who were involved in the fight were later carried back to prison.
A source within the prison walls related that one member of the gang that fought yesterday was previously bullied by the other gang, hence that incident prompted yesterday incident.
After the court proceeding yesterday had come to a close and the prisoners were escorted by lawmen into the prison’s van, one of the gang members was seen sporting a blood- stained jersey.
Lawmen mentioned that one of the men might have suffered a broken nose as result of the fight yesterday.
