Raul Archer dominated his encounter in the Over 73kgs division and was eventually adjudged the winner when the Guyana Judo Association (GJA) staged the National Mashramani Championships at the Marian Academy, Eve Leary, over the past weekend. The tournament also served as the elimination for the Caribbean Judo Championships slated for the Dominican Republic on March 18 and 19. Archer, by dint of his victory will occupy that slot. Edward DeLima finished in the second place while Charles Ambrose sealed off the podium positions.
Raul Lall fought his way to top honours in the U-73kgs division and a place on the team in this category. Mike DeJesus placed second while D. Gladstone finished third. Ambrose has been selected to travel with the team in the capacity of coach and may also be required to don whites for a team encounter. Those selected will commence training immediately.
