When asked by the police what his victim did to cause him to react in such a manner, an Albouystown resident identified as Roy Williams AKA “Lassie” replied, “He dis me”.
Williams reportedly chopped Terrence Nero, of Fourth Street, La Penitence, on February 8, last, at around 11:30PM for no apparent reason. The incident occurred in James Street Albouystown. The victim is said to be 44 years old.
This newspaper understands that Nero was in argument with another Albouystown resident known as Tom Puss. During the argument, Lassie allegedly “picked up fire rage”, took over the story, and attacked Nero from behind. “He choke me from the back and I didn’t expect it so he get the upper hand over me” said the injured Nero.
Reports are that when onlookers saw what was happening, they began to restrain the assailant. He soon let go of his victim and “ran away”.
Subsequently, Williams returned, armed with a cutlass, and dealt several chops to Nero. Nero, who is said to be a drug addict, became unconscious and was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital by his brother and a brother’s friend.
Nero sustained a severe chop to his right arm, one to his left forearm, one to his right thigh a little above the knee and one to his forehead.
Williams was taken into police custody. However, while his victim was still critical in the hospital, he appeared before the court and was released on $100,000 bail.
Nero was discharged from hospital on Tuesday. Williams’s next court date is March 10
