Guyanese technicians certified by APC

Fifteen persons were certified as authorised APC technicians at the Starr computers Inc headquarters, 59 Brickdam, on Thursday.
According to District Manager for American Power Conversion (APC) Exporters and Caribbean IT Business, Franklin Guerrero, for the technology provider Starr to be a service provider in Guyana the technicians have to be trained.
This is a requirement for an authorised service center.
He said that the technology provider has been promoting energy efficient products and enlightening the Guyanese population about the benefits of such equipment.
Money is saved in electricity bills and these energy efficient products protect the electrical appliance, Guerrero said.
Consumers will benefit from many features that the APCs are built with since the product is known for its quality, innovation and industry leading service and support.
He explained that the APC provides protection against some of the leading causes of downtime, data loss and hardware damage: power problems and temperature. Its comprehensive solutions, which are designed for both home and corporate environments, improve the manageability, availability and performance of sensitive electronic, network, communications and industrial equipment of all sizes.
A consumer who purchases an APC made Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) will save in the utility bills and will have a high performance backup power for home appliance and lighting applications.
The APC District Manager further said that APC by Schneider Electric is committed to conducting its business in an environmentally responsible manner. “Fulfilling our responsibility to protect the environment enhances our ability to provide competitive and profitable products and services.”
President of STARR computers, Michael Mohan, said that APC and Starr have been working together for 18 years and have also been a main distributor for APC products in Guyana.
He said that ultimately Guyanese consumers will benefit from product that are affordable, since STARR’s is now a direct distributor of APC products in Guyana.
Mohan explained that when a UPS is purchased the consumer benefits from an intelligent system that shuts down the various computer components when it is not in use or when it is idle, causing less energy to be used.
“If you want your appliances to last long get a APC that will give your appliance longevity.”
