Godwin McPherson Foundation Mash basketball competition set for Berbice

Leitchfield Village will come alive today and tomorrow when the Godwin McPherson Foundation holds a two day Pre-Mashramani Basketball extravaganza for teams in Regions 5 and 6 at the Leitchfield School Basketball Court. Action begins at 13:00 hrs.
Most of the top clubs and teams in the Ancient County are expected to be in attendance as they battle for the lucrative cash incentives, trophies and other prizes on offer.
The winning teams will walk off with G$ 70,000 and trophy, second place will collect G$40,000 and a trophy, while $20,000 and a trophy is available for the team finishing third. There will also be a number of individual prizes for outstanding performers.
Among the teams expected to throng the venue are the New Amsterdam ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ teams, Fyrish and Rose Hall Town, Rosignol United, Hopetown, Bath Settlement, No. 42 Village, Litchfield, and Mahaicony.
Trophies were donated by the Godwin McPherson Foundation among other donors.
Teams are being asked to pay a registration fee of G$6,000.
