Road Warriors defeated Daredevils by 6 wickets to capture the Mustak Furniture Store 15 over softball title on Sunday at Sewram’s Tarmac in Belle Plaine Wakenaam.
In an exiting final, Daredevils won the toss and batted first and posted a respectable 178-7 off their allotted overs. Kemo Paul led with 71 (3×4, 6×6) and got support from Olwin Paton 51 (7×6) and Derwin Daniels 20.
Road Warriors in reply scored 179-4 in 15 overs. Ricardo Adams slammed 66 (10×6) while Chandreka Ragnauth made 45 and Abdool Salim 29.
Road Warriors received the winning trophy while Daredevils took the runner up prize and Adams was given the man-of-the-match award.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mustak Mohamed thanked the participating teams and congratulated Road Warriors for winning the competition.
Meanwhile, in the semifinals played earlier, Daredevils defeated Runjab XI by 178 runs and Road Warriors overcame Young Warriors by 77 runs.
SCORES: Semifinal 1 – Daredevils 206 all out in 15 overs (Kemo Paul 43, Imran Khan 39, Nokta Moses 27, Somnauth Prashad 24, Extra 30, Sean Persaud 3-19, Sachin 2-40).
Punjab XI 28 all out in 7 overs (Charles Benjamin 4-9, K. Paul 3-5, S Prashad 2-6).
Road Warriors 218-1 in 15 overs (Chandreka Ragnauth 108 (12×6, 5×4) Tulsieram Ramadeen 96 n.o (6×6,8×4) Young Warriors 141 all out in 15 overs (Navin Narayan 63 (5×4), Besham Bhagpattie 21, R. Adams 4-25).
