The 52-year-old Ministry of Education official who is accused of indecent conduct, against his 18-year-old stepdaugther, has been released on $25,000 station bail.
Police said that they were advised by the Director of the Public Prosecutions to institute charges against the man, who police now say will appear n court today.
According to police on February 10, last, at Richmond, the man fondled the eighteen year old, twice, once before and again after he returned from his place of employment at Aurora.
The man shares a common-law, relationship with a special constable, attached at the Guyana Revenue Authority at Anna Regina. The girl’s mother said that her daughter later informed her about the incident and she lodged a report with the police.
This newspaper understands that the woman has since moved out of the couple’s Richmond home and is planning to return to her mother’s residence at Wakenaam.
The special constable has described the situation as ‘terrible’. She told this newspaper, “I cannot sleep. He committed acts of this nature thrice on my daughter, who is suffering from a brain condition.”
She said that they have been living together for the past four years.
