A compassionate mother from Port Mourant, Berbice stands to lose her entire estate if her daughter does not show up for court this week.
The woman’s daughter, Farida Nohar, who is before the court on several fraud charges, was granted substantial bail.
She begged her elderly mother to secure her pre-trial liberty and the goodly woman obliged.
Two years ago she pledged the transport for her $2.5M property and all went well for a few court hearings.
Then for some strange reason her daughter disappeared and several attempts to get her to acknowledge her commitment to the court failed.
“Every time de matter call up, she ain’t turning up. The magistrate threaten to tek de transport,” a relative of the bailor told Kaieteur News .
Nohar has been reportedly seen in the Stabroek Market and other areas and her mother is appealing to anyone who sees her to plead with her to attend court.
The next court hearing in on Tuesday and relatives fear that the bail will be escheated if Nohar does not show up.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Farida Nohar is asked to contact 644-2250 or the nearest police station.
