According to eyewitnesses, the car a Mitsubishi Lancer was heading out of Bel Air to the Railway Embankment when the collision occurred.
One eyewitness told this newspaper that the car failed to stop. At the same time the canter truck was approaching the intersection. This newspaper was told that the Canter, having seen the car, tried to avoid collision and swerved but crashed into a utility pole breaking it in the process before ending up in a nearby canal.
The Canter was also struck from behind. Fortunately no one was injured but both vehicles were badly damaged. The question now remains; who will replace the broken utility pole.
