According to a report emanating from the Health Ministry in Region Two, it has been reported that the region has recorded the highest number of HIV cases nationwide, with 22 babies being born infected.
PNCR councilor, Debbie Mc Lean, who is a member of the health committee reported that although a lot of work has been executed in the region, relating to the education and prevention of both the disease and AIDS, young people’s behaviour is still noticeably loose.
Councilor Mc Lean said that young people’s attitude has not change especially in the areas of promiscuity and erratic behaviours.
The councilor implored her fellow councilors to maximize television broadcasts to further educate persons about the devastating disease, especially in Region Two. The report is alarming, she added.
