Members of the Enterprise Outreach Centre and representatives of the Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Church at the GPHC Maternity Ward, handing out baby kits and baby clothing to expectant mothers and new mothers.
On Tuesday members of the Outreach Centre located in Enterprise, East Coast Demerara (ECD) along with Elder Angus and his wife, Sister Angus, of the Jesus Christ Church of Latter-Day Saints visited pregnant women and mothers in the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation Ward(s) to donate baby kits and baby clothing to all mothers (and expectant mothers).
A large number of mothers were excited and happy with the kind gesture by the Outreach Centre; this being the second occasion the GPHC was visited by the group and benefitted from donations.
The Charitable Organization which can be found at Lot 212 Forbes Street, Enterprise, East Coast Demerara, is being run by persons who feel the need to “reach out to society” and assist in whatever way possible in making the lives of the poor and unfortunate, easier.
Chairperson of the group, Chandrouti Shivpal, stated that she was extremely happy to “bring a smile on the face of mothers” while the Outreach Centre’s secretary, Liloutie Ramdial, explained that their organization is one which tries to help the unfortunate all across Guyana.
She said that during the Christmas Season to date, a wide range of places were visited by the Outreach Centre and they also benefitted from donations of hygiene kits, school kits, baby kits, toys, shoes, clothing and learning books.
These places include the Joshua House, Melanie Health Centre, Enterprise Nursery School and the C.C. Nicholson Hospital. Also 100 senior citizens of the Enterprise area were given hygiene kits, clothing and footwear.
