Feb 07, 2011 Letters
Dear Editor,
The enormity of the challenges facing the City Administration is really beyond belief.
I refer to a letter (Wednesday, February 2, 2011, SN), written by L. Narin, titled, “Exercise in futility”.
The writer of this letter is fully justified. I have on numerous occasions visited this abomination in a residential area (Anira Street), and requested action by the Administration.
Notices were sent, however, I made it clear to the Administration that some citizens for selfish reasons are not responsive to anything but brute force. We had only recently had a truck removed and based on regulations the man paid the fine for the return of his vehicle.
We will continue this exercise and if the violation continues we will be forced to take even sterner measures.
I wish to assure the writer L. Narin and indeed all citizens, as Mayor, I welcome their criticisms and where appropriate their suggestions, and to remind all concerned of the constraints we face.
Hamilton Green, JP
