Residents along the public road at Cotton Field, Essequibo Coast are appealing to the police and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to relieve them of a nuisance in the community.
The complaints stem from the noise created by a mechanical workshop, from where the sounds of banging are heard from as early as 06:00 hrs. and continues through nightfall.
Some people, especially the elderly, claim that they are unable to sleep at nights. The result is that they suffer from stress, high blood pressure and other health problems.
Other complaints are that school children cannot study in silence and dust from the factory is invading homes.
