Over 75 Horses entered
Over 75 horses will gallop for top honors at the season opening horse race meet organised by the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club (RCMTC) today at Alness Village, Corentyne Berbice.
Seven (7) are carded for the day with action set to begin at 13:00hrs and over $3.5M in cash and other prizes up for grabs.
The ‘D’ Class match up will be the highlight of the day apart from four other potentially exciting races; the F and Lower, the 3 year-old Guyana bred contest and the G and H class gallops.
Banks DIH Limited is once again the sponsor of the main ‘D’ Class event to the value of over $800,000. The winner will pocket $350,000 and the Banks DIH trophy in the 1100M clash.
Among those in the reckoning for the top prize are Delmur Gold, Tropical Passion, Harry’s Dream, On the Rock with Salt, Prince Charming, The Gap, King Maker, Wad A Luck and Face De Music.
Among the ‘F’ and lower horses entered for the main prize of $240,000 and the GTM trophy over 1100M are Momzelle, King Maker, Miracle Run, Face De Music, Fairly Landing, Pegasus Rising, Laura Lee in Flight, Top of the Line, Harry’s Dream, Romantic Passion and Face De Music.
Super Cat after a successful debut in the two year-old category will be out to prove that it is the best locally bred three year-old animal around when it takes on its rivals over 1200M. But horses such as Princess Renukha, Apostle, Kevin, Speed Vision, JD Junior, Cash Connection and Royal Salute will be looking to spoil the party. The winning purse is worth $200,000 along with the Just Water trophy.
Another top notch field is expected for the ‘G’ and lower race with the likes of Stormy Deal, Air Control, Royal Champion, Miracle Run, Stormy Lass, Little Caesar, Maracas Star, Romantic Passion, Finishing Touch, Ginger Bread, Pixie Fire, Peaceful and Bob’s Junior looking to cross the finishing line first for the $200,000 winners stakes and the Rakesh Trophy over a distance of 1100M.
The ‘H’ class thoroughbreds in the reckoning for the $150,000 top prize and John Ali trophy I n eth 1200M contest are Celebration Time, Prospector Pride, Over the Mat, Amy Jane, Funny Sided, Diplomat, Miami Vice, Sun Raiser, Tidal Wave, Dream Girl and Clear Victory.
There will be a race for Division I, 2 and lower horses with $120,000 at stake for the winner and trophy donated by S&N Electrical. This 1200M clash will see animals the likes of Try Again, Clear Victory, Indian Flag, Miracle Silver, Silver Kid, Tidal Wave, Bounty Flyer, Beyonce, Extra Heat, Porridge, Mona Lisa, Black Beauty, Diplomat, Kevin, Princess Renukha and Apostle.
The other race listed today is for Divisions 2 and 3 horses and most of the animals entered for the Division 1&2 event are down to compete in this event that has a winner’s prize of $100,000 and the Dahoo Auto Sales trophy.
Other horses entered are Sport in Time, Mackeson Man, Blessed Child, Miami Vice, Sun Raiser and Bush Man.
The Alness race track is undoubtedly the fastest and the best in the country and according to the organisers the track is in excellent condition.
Outstanding individual performers including top Jockey, trainer and stable will be rewarded by the Trophy Stall of Bourda Market and the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club.
