– GPS, Night vision and high resolution features available

STARR Computers Inc. (STARR) once again has hit the market with the launch of another innovation in computer engineering. This time it’s a product that is a security feature for all vehicles (Starr Xfinity VVR Vehicle Surveillance).
On Thursday, at the company’s head office at 59 Brickdam, President of STARR computers, Michael Mohan, unveiled the technology that is set to upgrade the way vehicles are monitored and driven.

He said that the Vehicle Video Recorder (VVR) can be mounted on the inside of the windscreen of any vehicle, and can be used as a crime fighting asset. It also has two powerful cameras which are positioned at the front and rear of the device to record what is transpiring on both ends.
Adding that the frontal camera has a 170 degree camera while the rear carried a 130 degree angle, Mohan said it is also equipped with night vision and the cameras are high resolution cameras which records at 20 frames per second.
Mohan further said that the device also has GPS which is capable of tracking the location and measuring the speed or the driver. In addition the VVR is equipped with a “G sensor” that is capable of stabilizing the vibrations that distorts the video.
He noted that the VVR would be an asset to the Law Enforcement, journalist, taxi drivers’, ambulances, fire engines, mining vehicles, school busses and law abiding citizens.
The President of STARR computers further said that the devices can be upgraded for customers based on their need, which would also be at a higher price. However, the Starr Xfinity VVR Vehicle Surveillance will be sold for various prices — $39,000, $49,000, $69,000 and $89,000. The price range would include the number of features offered.
“While you are in the vehicle and there is a laptop computer with Wi max service (internet service) if there is a fire or something serious happening, you can copy any one of these files and email it to the office or another computer and a report can be written or it can be replayed on a television station in real time,” Mohan said.
The device is powered by the lighter outlet in the vehicle. Power packs will also be available later next month for persons who would want to use the outside of a vehicle.
The VVR uses a four, eight or sixteen gigabytes SD memory card that is capable of fitting into a phone, while the 16 gigabytes offer eight hours of recording. The package comes with software that allows the computer to read the information that is stored.
The specifications of the VVR include; Digital Video Recorder, two powerful high definition cameras, wide angle video coverage-in real time, GPS tracking to view route, records vehicle speed, G-sensor to adjust for road condition and voice recording.
