The Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club is extending congratulations to newly appoint Captain of the Guyana senior team, their own Assad Fudadin. Following is the full text of their message issued by Assistant Secretary/CEO of the Club, Nermala Sewdat.
“On behalf of the Patron, President, Executive Committee and members of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club, I extend congratulations to our club member Assad Fudadin on his appointment as Captain of Guyana’s Four Day cricket team. This appointment is well deserved based on his outstanding performances over the past two years during which he led Berbice to the Inter County T20, 50 overs and Four Day titles.
Assad’s appointment is historic for us at the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club as he is the first club member to Captain Guyana at the senior level. Assad captained the National Under-19 team while Shawn Pereira led the National Under-15’s last year.
Since joining the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club in 1995 at the tender age of 10, Assad has always displayed outstanding leadership skills and over the years has been a positive role model to every young member of our club.
He has developed his leadership ability by leading our Under-15, 17, 19 and First Division teams and is well known to lead by example on and off the field.
We are confident that the fortune of Guyana’s Cricket would change under Assad’s dynamic leadership and would like to urge him to remember the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club formula for success – hard work, commitment, faith in the God we serve, honesty and unity.
That formula has never failed us and Assad is fully aware of its impact on his cricketing career. We wish to reassure that every club mate would be supporting him and his team and we would be praying for their success.
The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club would also like to acknowledge the contribution of our official sponsors who have played major roles in the development of Assad’s career – Farfan & Mendes, Demerara Distillers Limited, Pepsi, Guyana Telephone & Telegraph Company, Cellink, Bakewell, Metro Office & Computer Supplies and Gizmos & Gadgets. We share this historic achievement with them.
