– Chisholm tipped for coaching assignment
Representative from the Rupununi Athletics and Sports Academy (RASA), Sonja Abraham was yesterday named as the Chaperon for the National Cross Country Team while Robert Chisholm was tipped for the Manager/Coach assignment with the team.
President of the Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG), Colin Boyce confirmed yesterday that Abraham, because of the special needs and composition of the team, was named as Chaperon with Chisholm likely to be appointed the team’s coach later this week.
Boyce said that the association understands the team and thought it best to assign someone from region nine to the unit. Abraham is an active member of the sport fraternity in region nine and is one of the individuals that have pioneered RASA’s development.
The RASA has been fortunate to have two athletes, the sensational, Doretta Wilson and Hezron Pedron, on the North American, Central American and the Caribbean (NACAC) National Cross Country team that competes in Trinidad and Tobago next month end.
