Every night people ganging up by Parliament and dem watching in because de place light up. Guyanese like lights and that is why all of dem does tun up outside Courts and anywhere wheh got lights at Christmas.
Well parliament got nuff lights because dem Members of Parliament studying how to mek money and how to hide money and how to explain money that dem done spend but which dem seh that dem ain’t spend yet.
Dem boys hear de talking inside de building and because dem know is budget dem wonder if de people planning fuh share out money to de ordinary people. One man hear somebody talk bout special funding and he wonder if that mean money fuh de president.
Then somebody talk bout deficit and dem boys want to know if that is money fuh de opposition. One man seh that if is not money fuh de opposition then is money fuh de pensioners.
And de lights burning bright. Parliament is de only place wheh contractors had to tender fuh provide food. And that is de only things that de Parliamentarians don’t question. Dem boys seh that dem don’t care if de estimate fuh chicken is $500 a pound and fuh sugar is $300 a pound and a meal is $5,000 a plate.
But if was a bridge or a road and de price fuh one stone was a bit high woulda be nuff noise. That is why Parliament suh bright. Is fuh mek de people focus on de food and forget anything else.
Talk half. Lef half.
