The 2011 golf season kicks off with the Harris Paints Tournament at Lusignan Golf Club tomorrow.
This year promises to see more growth in the game and even fiercer competition among existing players after a 2010 that saw close to 40 tournaments held, all well supported by the corporate community.
This week’s event starts at 12.30 pm (12.15 pm assembly) and is a medal play format.
Players are kindly asked to register by 3 pm today. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, best gross and nearest to the pin will be up for grabs, and Harris Paints will be offering a voucher towards its new line of paints.
The company is also happy to donate funds towards the club’s Youth Programme that will soon be offering free lessons to youths between 10 and 17 years as well as teaching the etiquette and rules of the game.
In a warm up club tournament last weekend, Francois Montour took first place, with Patrick Prashad and Fazil Haniff placing second and third.
