The body of one of the Guyanese twin brothers who went under water after an excursion in Trinidad last Sunday has been recovered, while a desperate search continues for the other.
The body of Ryan Lall was found at around 09:00 hrs yesterday, his mother Ramona Baldy, told Kaieteur News from Trinidad. She said that the Police were still looking for her other son, Ricky. The boys were both 16 years old and not 20, as previously reported.
The body of their Trinidadian friend, Manindra Deonarine, was also recovered yesterday.
The mother said that the boys both attended school in Trinidad, but would work on weekends at a supermarket in Princess Town. She took them to Trinidad about three years ago.
Up to press time last night, the body of the other son had not been recovered, prolonging the agony for the mother and the boys’ other siblings in Guyana.
In Guyana, the family lived at Non Pareil, East Coast Demerara.
The Guyanese twins went on an excursion Sunday when tragedy struck.
According to the boys’ sister, Marexa, her two brothers were part of a bus load of people who went to Mayaro beach. They were all preparing to leave when the Lall brothers and the Trinidadian, who also drowned, went for a final “wash off.” It was then that they were “pulled under,” she said.
