Allister Hall made his way into the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court barefooted to answer to the charge of break and enter.
The accused that was sporting long hair was brought before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry and pleaded not guilty. He is being represented by attorney at-law Kevon Bess.
It is alleged that between December 30 and December 31, last, Hall broke into the store of Nishan Ramnarine and pilfered over $4.8M worth in articles ranging from cellular phones to a laptop bag.
The accused, who resides at lot 72 Sandy Babb Street, Kitty, told the court that he is employed as a spray painter.
The magistrate set bail in the sum of $100,000 and made the matter returnable for February 2.
Also making his first court appearance before the same magistrate was Eon Martin, who was charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. To the offence he pleaded not guilty and was unrepresented.
According to police prosecutor Lionel Harvey, on January 15, the police were patrolling the Kitty area when Martin was seen walking along Pike Street, Kitty Georgetown.
Lawmen then proceeded to conduct a search on his person when a rank alleged that he saw Martin tossing away a plastic bag that he had in his possession.
The bag was retrieved and it was found to contain several rock-like substances that turned out to be two grams of cocaine.
Martin was remanded. He is scheduled to make his second court appearance on Thursday.
