A 24-year-old soldier was killed on the spot at around 18:45 hrs yesterday after crashing his motorcycle at Stanleytown, West Bank Demerara.
Reports state that Terrence McAllister, of Princes Street, Lodge, suffered multiple injuries after riding headlong into a culvert.
A relative told Kaieteur News that Mc Allister had travelled to the West Bank of Demerara earlier in the day and was returning home when the tragedy occurred.
Reports indicate that he was attempting to overtake another vehicle when he lost control of his motorcycle.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
At around midnight on Friday, 21-year-old Naiomi Nedd was killed after the car her mother was driving crashed crashed into a tree at Kuru Kuru on the Soesdyke/Linden highway.
Police said that Naomi’s mother, Carla Nedd, stated that she lost control of the vehicle after swerving from an animal that ran across the road.
