– Feels there is still enough time to keep projected date
President of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Chetram Singh in response to a letter that stated that Government was not in receipt of audited report, said that the Board only received the audited documents from Barcellos, Narine & Co yesterday and had he been in town he would have signed it off and dispatched it to the Friendlies Society.
The GCB Head said he was extremely surprised that the letter had reached the media since the two parties were constantly engaged in talks throughout the process.
“I rather think that it is a third party that is attempting to whip up a smear campaign for cheap publicity,” Singh stated.
He disclosed that the audited report will be sent to the Friendlies Society as early as Monday.
Singh added that contrary to the concern raised about whether there was enough time for the Friendlies Society to peruse the report and give its approval said he felt that there was sufficient time to do so to accommodate the projected January 30 date for the GCB elections to vote in a new President.
