The Guyana Netball Association (GNA) is expected to get its season started with the hosting of the Sherwin McKenzie Mixed Team Tournament which will be played this Saturday and Sunday, at the National Gymnasium, starting from 09:00 hrs.
According to President of the GNA Dr. Maxine Parris-Aaron, McKenzie, who currently resides overseas and a former member of Emanie Netball Club, is the sponsor of the competition which brings together the four clubs based in Georgetown and they are All-Stars, Eagles, Emanie and Rim Rockerz.
Dr. Parris-Aaron added that the usual rules will apply, except that teams will be allowed to register twenty (20) players for the tournament, but will have to choose twelve (12) for each game, while at least one male have to be on the court at all times.
Meanwhile, Dr. Parris-Aaron indicated that the next important item n the GNA 2011 agenda is the Annual General Meeting which is slated for Sunday, February 27.
