…Guyana queen to compete in Dubai
Apsara, the entertainment group, is seeking contestants for a local pageant to select a Guyanese to compete in the Miss India Worldwide pageant in Dubai this April.
Apsara previously sent two contestants to the pageant, dubbed one of the most glamorous Indian events in the world.
A local competition was not held last year, but this year would be different.
Apsara, which started off as a dance show, taking on international dance moves, has developed to include a magazine and a fashion line.
Apsara now intends to select a Guyana queen through a pageant at the National Cultural Centre on March 12. The winner will represent Guyana at the Miss India Worldwide Pageant to be staged in Dubai on April 7.
Apsara is looking for contestants who are unmarried and aged 17-27.
Miss India Worldwide is the longest running international Indian pageant with affiliates in over 20 countries.
The pageant would feature four categories, namely dance, Indian Dress, Evening Gown and Question and Answer.
