Defending champions Enmore, Farm and New Mosque were in winner’s row when competition in the Trophy Stall sponsored Muslim Youth Organisation organised Inter-Jamaat 10-overs round-robin competition bowled off on January 1st at the MYO Ground, Woolford Avenue.
Enmore recorded a 3-wicket win over Grove Falcons; Farm hammered Mocha Arcadia by 53 runs while New Mosque did not break a sweat as they won via the walk over route from Lusignan.
Batting first against Enmore, Grove Falcons were bowled out for 71 in their ten overs; Salman Ghanie the top scorer with 12. Reaz Yacoob with 3 for 13, Yuvraj Ali 3 for 17 runs and Ameer Khan 2 for 9 were the main wicket takers for Enmore who lost 7 wickets in posting the winning total of 73. Ameer Khan returned with the bat to lead with 18 (1×4, 2×6).
Bowling for Grove Falcons, Ahmad Nizamuddeen picked up 4 for 8, Shafeek Ishmael grabbed 2 for 14.
Farm took to the crease first against Mocha Arcadia and rattled up 95-5; Ricky Sargan hit an unbeaten 31, Yunus Mohamed struck 11*.
Tariq Cave (3-21) was the main wicket taker for Mocha Arcadia who in reply were restricted to 42-9 when their overs ran out. Doing the damage with the ball for Farm were Budhan Baksh and Vishaul Beharry with 3 wickets each for 8 and 6 runs respectively while Ricky Sargan snapped up 2. All matches that were set for Sunday last were called off due to the heavy rain.
