Roy Cassias, of 228 East Ruimveldt Housing Scheme, appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm on Zoe‘ Cassias, his sister.
Roy who pleaded guilty was unrepresented. The police are alleging that on January 3, at East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, Roy and his sibling were involved in an argument over a blender.
Roy reportedly became annoyed and allegedly dealt his sister several cuffs to her head and mouth. The matter was subsequently reported and the accused was arrested.
During the period the matter was being heard, his sister was seen sporting a swollen left eye.
When asked to recount the incident that led to his arrest. Roy Casias told the Magistrate that he was involved in an argument with his sister. “My worship I flick out my hands at her but I did not expect it to hit her so hard…Please forgive me.”
After much deliberation he was placed on a bond to keep the peace.
Magistrate Beharry made the matter returnable on January 28.
