Dear Editor,
One day looking up in the sky, were seen written in the shifting clouds the words, ‘Woman, God’s most beautiful creation.’ As life was breathed into her and she rose from the dust, a heavenly creation, her body, every inch, every curve whispered softly, grace, charm and sensuality.
Her soft skin, her sweet smile and the light in her eyes was to man something special beyond words as he held her in his strong arms and let her head rest on his broad shoulders for God had blessed him with a companion to share his life, for him to love, care and protect.
Life has taken many roads and turns from then to now, climb many mountains, crossed many seas and for woman, somewhere in the sand from where she was created lies buried her true worth, because man, her protector, has lost his way in a world invaded by evil and he sees her, now not as God meant it and each day as she cries, her heart aches, her body ravished, her blood flows, she hopes and pray for his return.
She walks alone many thorny paths, many rough roads, crossed tempest seas, but the purity of her love, the divinity of her presence and her simple nature of caring tells the story of her womanhood.
She has brought forth life as created by God in this universe, so she knows its scared value. The pain as that child is born is known only by woman and God, the closest connection to that unseen entity. The inner strength she possesses, that goads her daily life as she reaches out to nurture, to guide, to support with warmth, compassion and generosity of her heart cannot be killed or broken by inhuman interruptions and intrusions by man as evil continues to mesmerize him. A woman by virtue of her self-belief, commitment and dedication, to honour and love, to forgive transgressions, stands like towers of strength for her moral values is not measured by dollars and cents, it’s priceless. The power of her love, no storm can drown, no earthquake can shatter.
From across the world, in different culture, religion and society, she fights for recognition and rights, where the monstrosity of wars try to devour the body, where religious culture frowns on her presence as though her existence is undesirable, the mind stays strong and empowers the body, though broken and bruised, to fight for a right to breathe the precious air, to feel the warm sunshine, to laugh, to live for the world was made to be shared by man and woman.
One day, maybe, as she continues her struggles to counter evil acts and survive, man will return and she will once more feel the comfort of his strong arms and could rest her head on his broad shoulders, because that was how it was meant to be between man and woman.
A wish for the New Year
