I take this opportunity to say a big ‘thank you’ to all of my customers, for their support in business throughout the year because without you, our loyal customers, these events for the less fortunate would not have been possible. So I say thank you and would greatly appreciate your business in the future.
When you purchase a Comfort Sleep product, whether it be mattresses or the “Pink” foam sheets you help a needy child. During the Christmas season regular parties are usually held for the less fortunate and needy children.
A party was held on Sunday at Edinburg Primary School, East Bank Berbice through Church of Ascension. Sixty children between the ages of 6 and 12 years attended this event.
During the festive season Comfort Sleep provided for the party transportation, food, drink, ice-cream, gifts and party bags take-a-way. Comfort Sleep for the past two and a half years has established a day feeding programme for the same school; feeding 60 children every Monday, Wednesday and Friday during school time and for the July to August holiday. The meals are prepared at the Church of Ascension and then taken to the Edingburg Primary School where they are distributed.
Comfort Sleep also kept its 10th Annual Christmas Party at the Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre at Church and Carmichael Streets, Georgetown on Wednesday December 15, for children with disabilities and the less fortunate.
The company also donates on a regular basis, food stuff, night wear, pampers and any items that the centre may need, whether it be monthly, twice a month or according to the request; Comfort Sleep has been doing this programme for the past ten years. The beneficiaries are the persons living in at the centre and also persons visiting for therapy.
Comfort Sleep also donates to its Easter activity and other fun days. Comfort Sleep also held its third annual Christmas party on December 13 for school children of Malgre Tout Primary School, where 70 children attended; at La Grange Primary School, 50 children attended; and at Bagotville Primary School, 45 children attended.
The feeding programme is done through the Malgre Tout Catholic Church. Comfort Sleep has an all-year feeding programme for the three schools, three days per week during school hours. This feeding programme has been going on for the past three and a half years.
The meals are prepared at the Malgre Tout Church and then delivered to the three schools.
