Sixty-one-year-old Ramsey Persaud a/k Izick, of Mainstay Village, Essequibo Coast, was discovered in a trench at Land of Plenty on Christmas Day by his son, Mitesh Persaud. According to Police, Persaud left his Mainstay home to visit his friend, Doodnauth, at Land of Plenty.
The pensioner who suffers from arthritis, fell into a trench at Land of Plenty and was discovered around 18:00 hrs on Saturday.
Police were later summoned at the scene and retrieved Persaud’s body, which they subsequently took to the Suddie funeral home. No marks of violence were discovered on Persaud’s body. Meanwhile, 27-year-old Bisham Singh, of Reliance Village, Essequibo Coast, was found hanging at his father’s residence. The dead man’s sister, Nanda Persaud, who made the discovery, said that her brother started to consume alcohol on Thursday last and continued to drink through the night into the following day.
She said that her brother, who is a taxi operator and former policeman, had encountered problems with his wife. Singh has left to mourn three children.
