When people want to mek a point in a protest dem does do something really powerful. Some like Kwayana went on hunger strike. But dem boys remember that he wasn’t de first. Dem old PPP people who de government lock up during the early 1960s at Sibley Hall also stage hunger strike.
Some people stay hungry till people coulda see dem backbone from de front.
Then you got de ones who does sit down in de middle of de road and set demself on fire. Dem is de real bad protesters. Dem boys seh that de government would be happy if Mark Benschop and Freddie Kissoon would protest like that.
Instead de two of dem choose a hunger strike. Well that was remarkable because de police in de station get worried that de two men would collapse pun dem hand and de whole country would tun against de police.

But if that was strange, how de magistrate embarrass de police was something else. De police march Mark and Freddie to court before bird wife wake and lock dem up in de court cell.
When de two end up in court de magistrate decide to send dem home on self bail. De prosecutor jump up and object. Dem boys nearly drop. De magistrate put dem pun a bail that even de bail receipt cost more.
De police get vex because dem shame. Dem boys seh that even de magistrate telling dem something but dem wouldn’t listen.
