A bandit operating in the Lamaha Park area has threatened to kill his female victim if she reported an attack he committed on her and her family last Monday night. Roxanne Ford, 43, a supervisor of Central Housing and Planning Authority, and resident of lot 265 Lamaha Park, was robbed of $34,000 cash and a quantity of jewellery, by the lone intruder around 21:15 hours on Monday.
Enquiries have disclosed that Ford was at home in her kitchen cooking while her 13-year-old son and her daughter were in the living room watching television when the masked gunman struck.
Police stated that Ford’s son said “mummy” and as she turned around she saw the suspect advancing towards her, pointing a gun in her direction.
The man said, “give me the f***ing money or else I will kill you.”
Ford complied. She went into her shoulder bag which was on the chair in the kitchen and handed over cash to the suspect, who then demanded that she take off her earrings, which she also did.
So terrified was Ford that she even went into her bedroom and handed over more jewellery to the bandit. She reported that the bandit told her if he hears anything in the neighbourhood, he would come back and kill her. The man then made good his escape.
The matter was reported, but no one has so far been arrested, although it is suspected that the bandit is from Lamaha Park or its immediate environs.
