Dec 21, 2010 Letters
Dear Editor,
After reading Moses Nagamootoo’s letter in the SN of December 20, 2010, it goes without saying that this is yet another classic case of this gentleman’s crossing the road and then looking back to check the traffic lights, and the flow of traffic.
Moses Nagamootoo’ letter captioned, “I disassociate myself from what seems to be a state-party alliance in sledge-hammering GAWU”. Clearly, Nagamootoo did not read or listen to the President’s statement concerning the GAWU matter. It seems instead, that this letter was preconceived and disposed of to the press prematurely, with no awareness of the actual position of the Government and PPP\C.
If this is not the case, then Nagamootoo was aware that the President has no intention of abandoning GAWU or the sugar workers, but he went ahead with his ridiculous letter anyway. After all, we are days away from the much anticipated election year; the election for which Moses Nagamootoo is an aspiring presidential candidate.
Mr. Editor, kindly allow me the space to advise Mr. Moses Nagamootoo to simply read carefully or listen keenly to the President’s statement concerning GAWU and the de- recognition thereof by GuySuCo.
In his haste to condemn the ‘champion’ and the PPP/C, Naganootoo, without exercising rationale, insists on complete dissociation from the state-owned GuySuCo’s ‘decision’ to de-recognize GAWU. But according to President Jagdeo’s statement, this was never the intention of GuySuCo. In fact, President Jagdeo explicitly stated that such will never take place under his watch. Apparently, Nagamootoo did not get that memo.
