Camille’s Institute for Business and Science Studies located at lot 1-4Track X, Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara, held its annual Santa Parade yesterday.
The route was from the Texaco gas station to the Madewini outpost, and is deemed the only of its kind on the East Bank of Demerara.
The private school which was established approximately ten years ago celebrated its sixth parade with the sharing of in excess of 350 gifts, including toys, stationery and hampers to children below the age of ten years, while kids and adults of all ages joined the parade.
This year the students and teachers assisted the institution by holding its first Christmas concert last week Friday to raise funds for this event.
According to the Principal, Camille Deokie Gorakh, the school has been a part of the Soesdyke community and most of the institution’s students are villagers.
That, she stressed, was the reason the institute decided to have a Santa parade annually, “to show appreciation for the overwhelming support the institution receives during the year”.
