A new airline will now be servicing the Guyana route as the Government has accepted the designation of Enerjet Airline by the Canadian Government to operate scheduled air service between Toronto and Guyana.
It is understood, that the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority issued the licence to operate the scheduled air service between Toronto and Guyana to Enerjet Airlines on November 16, last.
The start-up date for the flights to Guyana will be in February and it is expected that a New York route will be added soon after.
Enerjet is represented in Guyana by Guyana International Airlines Inc., with Hugh Denbow being the local contact person.
Enerjet is originally a charter airline with its headquarters on the grounds of Calgary International Airport in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It has operated flights to holiday destinations in the Caribbean and Mexico from Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto and Vancouver.
The airline commenced operations in spring of 2009.
